EDM covers a huge range of sounds, so the mix approach depends entirely on where your track sits. Big room needs maximum impact, the drop has to hit hard and the build needs to create real tension. Future house and electro house sit in a different space, where groove, midrange energy and punchy transients matter more than sheer scale. Getting the balance right between the kick, bass, leads and atmosphere is what separates a track that works on a festival system from one that doesn't.
