How We Mix & Master Techno
Techno covers a wide range of sounds, and the approach shifts depending on where your track sits. That might mean the density and drive of hard techno, the space and movement of melodic records associated with artists like Anyma and labels such as Afterlife, the more aggressive, upfront balance you hear in peak-time or big room crossover material like Hardwell, or the restraint and detail of minimal. Each of those asks for something different in terms of low-end control, dynamics, and stereo space, and the mix reflects that.
Drumcode and Afterlife don’t sit in the same lane, and neither do the artists behind them. The goal isn’t to force a sound, but to understand what you’re aiming for and build around it. Send over your stems, include a reference if you have one, and the mix and master will be shaped to the track, so it translates properly and sits where it should.
